The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) was founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1993 in order to provide funding for groundbreaking investigations led by some of the most visionary minds in medical research. Since its inception, BCRF has raised more than $330 million to support advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime.
In October 2011, BCRF is awarding $36.5 million in grants to 186 researchers from across the globe. Click for a full list of grantees. BCRF's administrative expenses remain at an absolute minimum. Currently, BCRF directs more than 90 cents of every dollar donated towards lifesaving research and awareness programs. In fiscal 2010, our administrative expenses were under 10% of revenues. Our efficiency has prompted independent evaluators to award BCRF with their highest ratings, including The American Institute of Philanthropy, which has awarded BCRF with an "A+" rating.
